If your doctor agrees, you may obtain prescriptions by sending a written request to the surgery. Requests can be sent by post or put through the letterbox when the surgery is open or closed.
You may register at reception to use our online Electronic Prescription Service [EPS]. This means that you can order your repeat medication via a secure and confidential internet system. Your nominated pharmacy can download your completed prescription and dispense your medication, either for collection or delivery depending on what you have arranged with the pharmacy. If you would like to register to use this system, please contact reception for a form.
Repeat prescriptions can be collected in person during surgery hours, returned to you by post if you enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope, or they can be collected by a local chemist. Please ask reception for the names of the chemists that provide a collection service at this surgery. Please ensure your request is placed in good time and your medication does not run out. For reasons of confidentiality and safety requests for repeat prescriptions cannot be taken over the telephone or by fax.
We do not operate our own pharmacy, but there is a pharmacy sharing the building with us.
Many pharmacists operate a prescription service where the pharmacy will order your repeat prescription from the surgery, dispense your prescription and deliver your medicine to you every month. Please contact your pharmacy for further advice.
Due to the high volume of requests for prescriptions received by the practice each day, we are able to process an urgent request for medication outside of our normal time-frame only in exceptional circumstances.
